According to information, officials have said that, Japan have imposed more sanctions against Russia on Friday in retaliation for its invasion of Ukraine. Both the military and the nation’s engineering and construction sectors are the targets of these actions. Russia faced a wave of sanctions after sending soldiers into Ukraine in February of the previous year.
But, the Kiev and the rest of Ukraine have stepped up their calls for further action to be done against Moscow. Following the G7 summit Japan hosted in Hiroshima last week, where the group’s leaders vowed to “starve Russia of G7 technology, industrial equipment, and services that support its war machine,” Tokyo recently implemented another embargo.
The new Japanese sanctions include “a ban on the export of construction and engineering services, an asset freeze of Russian people and organisations and further the ban on the export of goods to Russia’s military related businesses, to Russia, as stated by the top government official Hirokazu Matsuno.
The Japanese government also have stated that, the assets freeze affects 17 individuals and 78 firms, including senior military officers, while export restrictions apply to 80 organisations, including the Russian mobile phone carrier MegaFon.
Recently also, the European Union, the United States, and Britain all vowed to continue supporting Ukraine militarily, notably with F16 aircraft, and they also each announced further penalties against Moscow. In addition, Matsuno opposed Belarus obtaining Russian strategic nuclear weapons.
Alexander Lukashenko Belarus President also conveyed that, Moscow has begun sending nuclear weapons to his country. Matsuno thinks that this will “further aggravate the situation”. Japan will never be able to tolerate Russia’s threat or the correct utilisation of nuclear weapons because it is the only country to have endured atomic bombardment during wars.
