At least 46 bodies, believed to be those of in-migrants, were found inside an abandoned truck on the outskirts of San Antonio, Texas.
According to a fire officer, 16 other people, including four children, had also been taken to an infirmary.

According to San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood, initial responders arrived at the scene at about 18:00 local time after receiving reports of a deceased individual (23:00 GMT).
“We’re not supposed to open up a truck and see stacks of bodies in there. None of us come to work imagining that,” he stated.
He continued by saying that the vehicle’s driver had abandoned it and that it was without water and without functional air conditioning.
According to Marcelo Ebrard, the foreign minister of Mexico, two Guatemalans were among those carried to the infirmary. It isn’t known right away what the nationalities of the other victims are.
Federal officers have taken over the inquiry while three persons are being kept in jail.
