The WHO’s conspicuous quiet until the pandemic reaches wealthier countries is unnerving. The feared monkeypox is now deemed a pandemic by the World Health Network, an independent group of concerned scientists (WHN). The World Health Network has requested WHO to designate the Monkeypox outbreaks as a worldwide pandemic. As the instances continue to pile up, cofounder Dr. Eric Ding issued a statement on Twitter. Since the first case was reported in the United Kingdom in May, over 3500 cases have been reported in 58 countries.
The first human case of monkeypox infection was found in the Republic of Congo in 1970. However, the most recent epidemic, Covid-19, is quickly spreading across continents. In his tweet, Dr. Eric states that the epidemic requires a worldwide collaboration of organisations to halt the spread of yet another pandemic. The number of everyday instances is growing at an alarming rate. Until May, the pandemic had never spread outside the African continent. The majority of these instances have developed in Europe and have expanded to Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Morocco, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, and other countries.
According to reports, WHO health consultants stated that the increase in infections in Europe is connected to an orgy involving BIs and queers in two raves in Spain and Belgium earlier this year. This is quite troubling since it labels the virus as anything other than an illness that must be controlled.
Meanwhile, following an emergency committee meeting, WHO may designate the lethal epidemic a pandemic. It was only this week that WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called it “unusual and cornering.” While the virus may be contained by vaccinations, the WHO’s lack of concern and negligence until the virus appeared in wealthy countries is appalling.

I’m just curious. Even if WHO address it as global pandemic. What measures will be taken ? If it goes more widespread, i think nothing much will be done, most of world is heading towards recession, no country will be willing to tank economy at this point.
I think as per WHO I think it can be taken as pandemic and take care of peole from being affected but at the time spreading of this monkey pox should also be reduced rather putting vaccination. Let’s all stand together to come out of this situation
