Today, Gautam Adani briefly replaced Jeff Bezos as the second-richest person in the world, with a net worth of $154.7 billion, the businessman surpassed Bernard Arnault, the CEO of Louis Vuitton, and Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, on Forbes’ real-time billionaires list before Arnault bumped him to third place.
The richest person is still Elon Musk, who has a net worth of 273.5 billion. Last month, Adani overtook Arnault to take third spot, behind only Musk and Bezos. This time, he momentarily overtook Bezos. Arnault dropped from second to third as his family’s net wealth decreased by $4.9 billion to $153.5 billion, knocking him out of first place.
Decline in Gautam Adani’s Net Worth :
He has recaptured the spot with an overall net worth of $152.8 billion, despite a further drop in fortune. Mr. Gautam Adani’s wealth decreased to $151.3 billion, placing him third, as a result of his gains being cut from almost $4 billion to $1.1 billion. With assets of $149.7, which are down $2.3 billion, Bezos ranks fourth. CEO of Reliance Industries Ltd. Mukesh Ambani, who came in eighth, has a net worth of $92 billion.
First-generation businessman Mr. Adani is in charge of the Adani Group, which includes seven publicly traded firms in the infrastructure, mining, energy, as well as other sectors. Over the past five years, Adani Enterprises has made large investments in new, growing industries, such as data centres, airports, cement, copper refining.
Further, they include green hydrogen, petrochemical refining, roads, and solar cell manufacturing. It also intends to enter the telecom sector and extend its business in airports and green hydrogen.
