Deadly Pool Found At The Bottom Of Redsea

At the bottom of the Red Sea, researchers from the University of Miami have found a deadly pool that kills anything that swims into it. The saline pool was discovered using a remotely controlled underwater vehicle at a depth of 1.7 kilometres, according to studies. During the final five minutes of a ten-hour dive, the scientists discovered the lethal pool.

According to the experts, a brine pool is a depression in the seafloor that is filled with chemically concentrated salt water and other materials that are saltier than the ocean’s surrounding water. Animals could be pickled alive or stunned in these underwater swimming pools, according to reports.

Sam Purkis, the principal researcher, told a source that the lethal pools are “among the most severe ecosystems on Earth,” adding that “any animal that strays into the brine is quickly shocked or killed.” Mr. Purkis further mentioned that it appears that fish, shrimp, and eels hunt in the brine. He stated that these animals loiter next to the dangerous pool to “feed on the unfortunate” animals that mistakenly enter there while swimming.

The discovery of such pools, according to the lead researcher, may aid in the understanding of how the planet’s seas first evolved. He continued by stating that the brine pools are rich in diversity and are the home to numerous microorganisms. He emphasised the significance of these results in determining whether life can exist on other worlds with equally adverse environments.
