Russian warns US against arming Ukraine

As the conflict entered its 51st day, Russia cautioned the US against aiding Ukraine, warning of unforeseeable results, according to The Washington Post. According to the news source, the Russian embassy in Washington submitted a paper entitled “On Russia’s Concerns in the Context of Massive Supplies of Weapons and Military Equipment to the Kiev Regime” to the US State Department.

Moscow chose multiple rocket launchers as the most critical weaponry, according to the document, despite the fact that the US and its NATO members are not thought to have provided Ukraine with those weapons. Russia accused NATO countries of breaking ‘rigorous standards’ limiting the movement of weaponry to crisis zones in the statement, according to the Washington Post.

“We call on the United States and its allies to stop the irresponsible militarization of Ukraine, which implies unpredictable consequences for regional and international security,”

Russian Embassy to US state department.

It also asserted that NATO countries were blind to the prospect of high-precision weaponry entering into the hands of extreme nationalists, extremists, and bandit troops in Ukraine, which Russia defined as radical nationalists, extremists, and bandit forces.

According to the Washington Post, it also accused the US of pressuring other nations to discontinue military and technological collaboration with Russia.

The Russian threat comes as its military continues its airstrikes on Ukraine following the loss of its Black Sea Fleet’s flagship warship. While Ukraine claimed it launched missiles from the coast at the cruiser Moskva, Russia said the ship sank while being towed in rough seas following a fire caused by an ammo explosion.
