Following his departure from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in 2018, Johnny Depp is supposedly making a comeback. In the five Pirates films released over the previous 15 years, Depp acted as the main character. Furthermore, Dead Men Tell No Tales, a 2017 film, implied that it was his last voyage aboard the Black Pearl. After winning his defamation case against Amber Heard, the actor has reportedly been in negotiations with Disney over a “$300 million deal,” according to a source who spoke to Poptopic.
According to the insider, Disney has just contacted Depp about mending their broken relationship. The insider also mentioned that Disney Plus is planning another initiative. The source stated,

As per the source, the media company is apparently working on a “$301 million agreement” to get Depp back soon, and as a show of goodwill, they are also claimed to be making a “sizeable donation” to a charity of Depp’s choice. The Edward Scissorhands actor earlier declared to the jury that he would never again collaborate with Disney after being dropped from the sixth Pirates film.
Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, which did not specifically name Depp but characterised him as a domestic abuser, is what led Depp’s legal team to allege that Depp missed out on a $22 million paycheck. Depp claimed that he felt ‘guilty until proven innocent’ in the eyes of Disney management. According to DailyMail, original Pirates screenwriter Stuart Beattie was the first to openly reveal that Disney Studios will be dumping the star in 2018 as they remake the whole franchise.
