US Man Arrested For Starting Wildfire

In an effort to destroy a spider, a man set a 60-acre hillside on fire in the United States, leading to his incarceration. According to the sheriff’s office, the incident occurred on Monday in Springville, Utah, as a result of the man’s attempt to burn the spider alive with a lighter.

The fire was unintentionally started by Cory Allan Martin, 26, of Draper, Utah, who claimed to have been trying to burn a spider with his lighter when he noticed it, according to a tweet from the Utah County Sheriff. According to Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon, the beginning of this fire may have been the strangest thing he has ever seen. “Someone started a fire because they were using a lighter to try to burn a spider. That may be the most odd fire start ever “Cannon stated.

When he was taken into custody by the authorities, his backpack included marijuana and other drugs, as well as drug paraphernalia. According to a source, Martin was held in the Utah County Jail for marijuana possession, reckless fire starting that put a person in danger, and using or having drug paraphernalia.
