Casper Ruud of Norway advanced to the men’s singles final of the US Open 2022 after defeating Karen Khachanov of Russia in the semifinal match on Saturday, September 10 at Arthur Ashe Stadium. As one of the finest up-and-coming players on the circuit, the 23-year-old will fight in his second major final of the year.
Casper Ruud lost to the famous Rafael Nadal in the French Open final previously this year. However, he played a false persona at Wimbledon losing it badly in round 3. The Norwegian superstar has more than made up for his errors, though, by trying winning his maiden US Open men’s singles match.
Casper Ruud has a chance to surpass Andy Murray as the number one seeded in men’s tennis player as will will play on Monday. Ruud will be the top player if Carlos Alcaraz doesn’t get to the Flushing Meadows championship game.
The Spaniard will face off against American Frances Tiafoe in the second semifinal. If Alcaraz makes it to the final, the winner of the US Open will take over as the new No. 1 Seeded player in men’s singles. Moreover, Casper Ruud will be eager to win his maiden Grand Slam Final of US Open 2022.
